Rugged IP68 optical DO, pH and temperature/salinity sensing with cloud alerts — protecting intensive shrimp ponds from oxygen crashes around the clock.
A commercial shrimp farming operation in Indonesia needed to cut mortality linked to dissolved oxygen crashes — the single largest cause of loss in intensive shrimp ponds, especially at night and during weather changes.
Pond managers previously relied on hand-held meters and fixed checks; problems were often discovered only after shrimp stopped feeding. The site needed affordable, rugged probes that could run 24/7 in saltwater, with remote alarms — plus aeration control to cut electricity cost.
Each pond was fitted with fluorescence-based DO sensors together with pH and temperature/salinity probes (IP68, corrosion-resistant housing), feeding data via 4G to a cloud platform with mobile alerts. DO thresholds trigger the aeration response — automatic where aerator control was installed, manual elsewhere.
